The Varsity Lady Lions are headed for the playoffs next week after defeating the Del Valle Lady Cardinals 2-1 at Lion Stadium on Tuesday, March 10.
The Lady Lions played the Lady Cardinals in the final home game of the season after recognizing players and their parents for their outstanding commitment to the team.

ors Meredith Moore, Heather Schulle, Sylvia Stover, Karoline Pfefferkorn and team manager Julia Boykin received special recognition for playing their last game at Lion Stadium during the “Parents’ Night” introductions.
The Lady Lions did not disappoint their parents or the fans. They scored the first goal of the game within five minutes when Stover kicked a left-footed shot assisted by sophomore Sydney Henrichs.
Del Valle answered with their own goal late in the first half, ending the half with a tie at 1.
The second half began with the Lady Lions on the attack. After putting constant pressure on the Lady Cardinals, Lockhart’s hard work paid off with a goal from freshman Cindy Partida.
Partida netted her goal with an assist from junior Christina Knudsen, ending the game with a 2-1 victory for the Lady Lions.
“The Lady Lions finished third place in district,” Coach Tim Bayliss said. “They finished with a record of 5-3-2 and an overall record of 10-8-2. The Lady Lions have qualified for the playoffs two of the last three years.”
The Lady Lion playoff game is yet to be determined. The game is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 24.
Playoff information will be made public as soon as arrangements are finalized. Check next week’s Post-Register for updates.
