Letters – Reader warns of pit bull dangers
To the Editor:
Another child has been killed by the family pet, a pit bull dog. Such acts should put the citizens of Lockhart on alert that we need to follow other cities in banning such dogs from the City before a person is injured or killed.
Many owners are not aware of the danger of owning a pit bull. In many cases the owners are not trained to handle such a p
owerful dog. There have been instances where pit bulls have attacked the owners when an owner attempts to stop the dog from attacking.
I support individuals’ rights to own pets, but I also strongly support common sense in protecting citizens. There is not a problem in Lockhart concerning pit bull attacks, but action should be taken before it becomes a problem.
