Lions’ junior high squads take 3 of 4 vs. Barnes

Lockhart Junior High opened its football season Tuesday by winning three of four games against Barnes Middle School of Seguin.

The Lions swept the 8^th Grade games at Seguin, while splitting the 7^th Grade games in Lockhart.

Carlo Rocha had an interception and Denim Ford scored two touchdowns and had two sacks in the Lockhart 8^th Grade Maroon’s 14-7 victory.

The 8^th Grade White squad beat Barnes, 20-13. Juilian Quintanilla was a standout player with an impressive touchdown run for Lockhart.

In 7^th Grade action, Lockhart’s Maroon handled Barnes, 27-6. Quintin Reese scored three times, and Jake White scored on an end around for the Lions.

Lockhart Junior High lost its only game in the 7^th Grade White contest, falling to Barnes, 13-6. Josh Rodriguez was credited as the LJH outstanding player of the game.
