Lockhart to host State Chili Qualifier

For the second year, National Chili Champion Mike “BB” Hughes has chosen his hometown to host the Tolbert Texas State Chili Qualifier, which will be held in Lockhart City Park on March 21-22.
The qualifying event will lead up to the 42nd Annual World Chili Cooking Championship at Terlingua, which Hughes won in 2007.

hefs from across the state, who came, camped and cooked. This year’s event promises to be larger and, in some cases, likely tastier than ever.
Chili chefs can still register for the event, or curious tasters can visit the park and soak up the family atmosphere, free of charge.
