Magdaleno Medina

Magdaleno “Mike” Medina, 88, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Lockhart, Texas of natural causes.

He lived a full life and leaves behind a beautiful family who surrounded him with love until his final breath.

Magdaleno is survived by his children: Mary Jane Medina, of San Marcos, Diana (Pete) Palmer

, of San Marcos, Martina (“Griff”) Griffin of Canyon Lake, 1SG (R) Mike (Rose) Medina, of San Marcos, Mark (Jennifer) Medina, Delia Medina, and Virginia Medina (Eddie) all of Lockhart, Magdalena Medina, Chris Medina (Amy), and Joe Anthony Medina, all of San Marcos, San Juanita (Keith) Wayland, of Corryton, Tenn., and Lile (Carlos) Quirino, of Houston; 41 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; his companion of 22 years, Gloria Zamora; extended family members and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cricensio and Benita Medina; his brothers, Geronimo and Ignacio Medina; his sisters, Saturina Capetillo, Juana Garza and Virginia Medina; and daughter-in-law, Malinda Sierra Medina.

Visitation was held at De Leon Funeral Home, 110 Cedar St, Lockhart, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, with a Holy Rosary vigil following at 7 p.m. A Catholic mass was held planned at St. Mary’s of the Visitation Catholic Church, 205 W. Pecan, Lockhart, on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. Internment follows the mass at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, 19106 San Marcos Hwy, Martindale, Texas.

Pall bearers are grandsons: Nicholas Kestler, Margarito A., Emilio, and Christopher Medina, Steven and Andrew Gonzales, and Kodak and Mikk Griffin. Honorary pallbearer is Paul Allen Haynes.
