Marco Scott Martinez (Marky), 54, passed away on October 8, 2024, in Dallas. Born to Marco Trevino Martinez and Rachel Lopez Martinez on June 12, 1970, in Stamford, Texas, he was preceded in death by his father. A 1989 Del Valle High School graduate, he was a Dale, Texas resident. Marco founded Water Tight Roofing in 2006 and later took over Marco T. Martinez Roofing in 2012. Known for his bright smile, Marco cherished time with his four daughters. He enjoyed biking, swimming, hiking, kayaking, and bowling. He also loved spending quality time with his mother and spoiling her.

Marco Scott Martinez is survived by his mother, Rachel; daughters, Jocelyn, Malee, Kimberly, and Markie; brother, Stephen and his wife, Tamera; sisters, Tammie L Ramirez and her husband, Felix, and Debbie Staggs; and his beloved niece, Rachel Elena Ramirez (Hootie). His light will continue to shine through them and through the lives he touched with his kindness and spirited soul.

Marky’s journey on this earth has ended, but his story will be told for generations. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the world. We take comfort in the memories and the love he shared, knowing that his spirit will forever soar high, just like the roofs he so skillfully crafted beneath the vast Texas sky.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 16 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m., at Thomason Funeral Home in Lockhart. There will be a viewing Thursday, October 17 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home before a funeral procession to St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass.
