Martindale 4th of July Parade
Since 1994, Martindale has been celebrating Independence Day with a parade. More than 40 floats, food booths, and music was in full display to all the residents and visitors to Martindale last week. The Gary Job Corps Correction/Security Cadets have assisted with traffic and crowd control for more than 20 years with the parade, the 150th anniversary of Martindale, and with the “Jamaica” at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Students from Gary have also assisted with the flood cleanups and the “Earth Day” activities. Pictured is Martindale Mayor Katherine Glaze waving to parade visitors. Photo by Kyle Mooty
