Mary Ellen Seay
Reverend Mary Ellen Seay, 75, of Moran, passed away Jan. 4, 2012, at her home.
Mary was born April 2, 1936, to Grady and Erma (Pounds) Burton in Moran, Texas. She married Reverend Roscoe Leonard Seay, Jr. on Aug. 13, 1966, in Odessa, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2010.
Mary was an ordained minister and was pastor of the Country Gospel Church in Moran at th
e time of her death. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Ladies Auxiliary and served as a missionary in Australia and the South Pacific.
Survivors include her children: Bob Bowles, of Lockhart, Texas, Mark Bowles, of Cisco, and Connie Courtney and Cindy Carroll, of Moran; brother, Bob Burton and wife, Jo, of San Angelo; grandchildren: Michael Stewart and wife, Nicole, Josh Rex, Justin Carroll and wife, Alissa, Jessica Seay, Kimberly Courtney, Thomas Stewart and wife, Kristen, Arthur Seay, Jesse Bowles and Courtney Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Austin Stewart and Lucas Carroll. A son, Matthew Seay, preceded her in death.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Country Gospel Church in Moran. Burial followed in the Moran Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 8, 2012, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Kimbrough Chapel in Cisco, Texas.
