Mavis Adams
Mavis Lenell Adams passed from this life into the eternal presence of Jesus on the afternoon of Feb. 3, 2015. She was born on Sept. 22, 1927, in Harwood, Texas, to Rosa Mae (Lewis) Johnson and Talmon Johnson.
She was married to Garth Adams on Nov. 2, 1950, and they had three children. They began their life on a farm in McMahan, but moved to Houston in 1967 where they enjoyed
many years of friendship formed through work, square dancing, and great neighbors.
Mavis also enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, and sewing. After Garth passed in 2000, she decided to move back to Lockhart to be closer to family. She enjoyed an active live there for the next 15 years. It was only in the past few months that her health began to decline, and we are grateful that our Lord chose to take her home when her suffering increased.
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; eight brothers; and a son-in-law.
She is survived by her sister, Eunice Ross, of Lockhart; son, Barney Adams and wife, Sharon, of Ozark, Mo.; daughters, Carla Spencer and husband, Ray, of McMahan, and Sandra Crowder, of Spicewood; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
A graveside service was held at Jeffrey Cemetery, in McMahan on Feb. 7, at 11a.m.
