Odell “Snookie” Whited

Mr. Odell H. “Snookie” Whited, 76, of Lockhart, died July 18, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Whited was born in Milam County, Texas July 8, 1930 to Archie George Washington and Elva Violu Bolton Whited. Mr. Whited was united in marriage to Mary Ann Culak on Feb. 12, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Lockhart; daughters, Melissa Owen of Lockhart, and Carolyn Fo

wles of Marble Falls; son, Buford Whited Sr., of Schneider, Texas; nine grandchildren: Mason Owen, Michaela Owen, Darla Kay Green, Buford Whited Jr., Justin Dale Whited Jr., Candy Sue Dorsett, Darla Sell, Sherry Newman and Danny Lee Kelley; and ten great-grandchildren.
Mr. Whited was preceded in death by two sons, Justin Dale Whited, Sr. and Harlan Dale Whited.
A visitation was held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 for his family and friends. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Roger Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Lockhart City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Norman Schoener, Kenneth Welfel, Ronald Welfel, Calvin Welfel, Richard Simons, and Steve Talbott. The honorary pallbearers were: Don Chesser, Melvin Pekrul and Billy Windam.
