Pierre Duffourc

Pierre “Duke” Duffourc, 80, of Austin, passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on Oct. 17, l929.

Duke was a member of the American Legion, Post 83 and the Detroit Motion Picture Association. As a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force, he served as a Military Policeman. Later in life, he was employed by Southern Union Gas.

Survivors are

his wife, Ann Struhall Duffourc; son, Donald Louis Duffourc and wife, Jennifer; grandsons, Laine Duffourc and wife, Jennifer, Trenton Duffourc and Dylan Duffourc; great-granddaughter, Elisa Duffourc; sister, Elizabeth Riley, of Salinas, Calif.; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to Trenton Duffourc for his love and care.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Harrell Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The American Diabetes Association.
