Raymond Johnson

McMahan resident Raymond D. Johnson, 86, died September 9, 2011, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Lockhart.

Mr. Johnson was born on Nov. 29, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Arthur and Alice Sager Johnson.

Mr. Johnson came to Texas in the 1960s where he worked many years as a manager for the Heitman Company in Houston. It was there he met his wife, Dorothy Duke. They were m

arried in Houston on June 27, 1970. Ray and Dorothy built their home in McMahan, Texas, and enjoyed many wonderful years there together.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy; step-daughters, Mary Martin-Jorgensen and Carol Hyatt; granddaughter, Tracey Moulden; great-grandchildren,  Rachel and Travis Moulden; sister, Laurene Rick, of Minneapolis, and her children Joanne, Janet, Marilyn and Tom.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Vista Hospice Care, Parkview Nursing Home and especially for the kindness of Laverne and Luther Rains.

Visitation was arranged from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14.The funeral was planned at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 at McCurdy Funeral Home, with burial following at Jeffrey Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas.
