Richard Lee Johnson, Jr.
Richard Lee “Rick” Johnson Jr, 62, of Fort Worth, passed away on April 10, 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Rosalie and Richard Johnson Sr. on May 17, 1951.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Johnson; daughter, Callie Johnson; and two sisters, Connie and Abbie.
Rick graduated from AP Leto High School in Tampa, Fla. He also attended Southwest Texas State Univers
ity and received a degree in industrial arts/drafting. Rick worked for the San Marcos Telephone Company for a number of years as a GIF technician. He also worked at Telecom American Services as a draftsman.
When he moved to Fort Worth he worked as a substitute teacher eventually becoming a full time teacher. Music was Rick”s passion. Playing his many guitars was what he enjoyed most in his life. He was an excellent guitarist and played in several bands including Amanda Jones, Joe Bob”s Bar and Grill Band, Rusty Doherty, and Kelly Pierson and Rodeo.
Rick always had a smile on his face and he would always leave you laughing . He was a caring and loving dad to his only child, his daughter, Callie, and will be sorely missed by every one who knew him.
There will be a celebration of Rick”s life on Saturday, May 3 at 107 N. Main, Lockhart, Texas, (the Gibeaux building) beginning at 3p.m.
