Roy N. Champagne
Roy Noah Champagne, 54, of Fentress, Texas, died unexpectedly of an anuerism, on Oct. 19, 2014. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Grady Marie Cook Champagne and Roy Noah Champagne, Sr. Following high school graduation, Roy earned a bachelors’ degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a masters’ degree from Texas State University in San Marcos. He then wo
rked as a geographic information systems professional. He had lived in Fentress for the past 14 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his cousins: Susan Steinthal and family, of New York; Mary Eckhout and family, of Colorado; Dorothy Swartz, Patsy Kimball, Mabel Sluder, Carolyn Ritzman, and Jennifer Jennings and their families, all from Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Roy was an outdoorsman who especially enjoyed surfing, snow skiing, and caring for his dogs, Molly and Jack. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed greatly by them all.
An informal memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Fentress Community UMC in Fentress.
