Ruth East

Ruth East, age 98, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 in Stephenville, Texas. She was a life long resident of Texas, living in the Austin area for most of her life, including Dale for 23 years.
Her strong will, feisty manner, and quick wit were evident even in her last days on this earth.
She was born Jan. 5, 1907 in Karnes County, Texas and married Jasper Newton

East on Sept. 18, 1926 in Beeville, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1986.
Mrs. East is survived by five daughters, Margaret Robinson of Hico, Willie Turner and husband, Willis of Dallas, Lois Wheless and husband, Sam of Bradley, S.C., Maxine Kolb and husband, Jim of Uvalde, and Patsy Forrest and husband, Larry of Stephenville; one son, Phillip East and wife, Joyce of Franklin, Ken., and one daughter-in-law, Emma East of Chilton; 35 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Albert East; one son-in-law, K.C. Robinson; two grandsons, W.J. Robinson and Jasper Turner; a granddaughter and her husband, Willa Faye and David Walker; and a great grandson, Wayne Walker. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded her.
Visitation was held from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13 at Bunton Cemetery in Dale, Texas where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jasper.
