Sandra Joyce Ellison
Sandra Joyce (Brawley) Ellison was born July 9, 1957 in Lockhart, Texas, to Johnnie L. Brawley, Sr., who preceded her in death and Zelma I. (Kelley) Brawley.
She confessed a love for Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. James A.M.E. Church in Lockhart. She later united with East Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member until the time of
her death.
She was educated in Caldwell County are schools. She graduated from Lockhart High School, and later Durham’s Business College. She was employed by and retired from Texas Workforce Commission in Austin, Texas, with more than 30 years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Zelma Brawley; sisters: Sharon Wilson, Margie Franks, Marilyn Brawley and Barbara Jackson; brothers: Johnnie Brawley, Jr., and Harold Brawley; nieces and nephews: Kashunya Wilson, Kimberly Shepard, Atoya Brawley, LaToya Brawley, Desiree Franks, Denay Franks, Leslie Jackson, Kelvin Wilson and DeMarcus Franks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A service celebrating her life was scheduled on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. at East Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, 3401 Rogge Lane in Austin, Texas. Interment will be in Lockhart City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ellison was a resident that I cared for at a nursing facility in Austin. I always enjoyed her beautiful smile and cheerful attitude, even when she didn’t feel her best. She will be deeply missed.
