Super S Foods announced last week that Lockhart”s Super S Foods will close on July 10.
“We regret that after serving this community, market conditions unique to this location require this difficult business decision,” said David McBurnett, president of Super S Foods. “For 33 years, Super S Foods has made a pledge to the
many communities we serve, to bring shoppers the highest quality products and services in a friendly, family atmosphere. This action in no way reflects a change in our policies or commitment to our customers we serve throughout Central and South Texas.”
Some sources suggest that the 47-store chain has decided to close the location because of problems with the building located at 200 S. Blanco, or because of disputes with the property owner.
Super S Foods representative James Hanson declined to comment on the speculations.
“We are sorry to see Super S close,” said Lockhart City Manager Clovia English. “They have been good for this community and a good neighbor.”
In preparation for the closing, Super S has changed their store hours to 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
