Families in Lockhart are invited to look to the skies, and perhaps follow a little whimsy, as The Red Balloon, a free outdoor circus experience, arrives for a weekend of entertainment, laughter, and community celebration.

Blending aerial arts, acrobatics, juggling, comedy, and dance, The Red Balloon tells the imaginative story of a traveling red balloon drifting from place to place, meeting new friends and discovering vibrant worlds along the way. Designed for audiences of all ages, the performance offers a heartfelt and playful escape that promises to captivate both children and adults alike.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m., with a performance at the corner of Market and Commerce Streets as part of Lockhart’s popular Courthouse Nights series. Following the show, attendees are encouraged to stay for a free concert on the courthouse lawn featuring the Lockhart Mariachi Band.

Festivities continue Saturday, April 18, at the Lockhart Farmers Market, where performances will take place at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Visitors can also browse a variety of local vendors offering handmade goods, fresh food, and artisan products, creating a full day of community-focused fun.

The weekend concludes on Sunday, April 19, with a final round of performances held in the OZK Bank parking lot behind the Lockhart Library.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs, gather friends and family, and enjoy the open-air performances together. All shows are free to the public.

The event is made possible through the support of the Lockhart Initiative for Tourism, which continues to bring accessible arts and cultural experiences to the community.
