As the boys finished the first half of District 25-4A play and the girls entering the second half, Lockhart varsity hoop teams still have but one league win between them after 13 league games.
After an off day on Jan. 20, both squads dropped contests against Dripping Springs Jan. 23. With the gap widening against the league leaders (Del Valle, Bastrop and Lake Travis

on the boys side; Del Valle, Dripping Springs and New Braunfels Canyon on the girls) winning this week”s games will be critical to either team”s hopes of making the state playoffs.
The girls (11-12 overall, 1-6 in district) hosted Canyon on Tuesday and will visit Lake Travis on Friday. The boys were slated to visit Canyon Tuesday and play host to Lake Travis on Friday.
The week”s results as reported by the district”s coaches (Thanks again to contributors Matt Burton, Dave Johnston, Jennifer Jones, Tony Knight, Brandon Durst, Stephanie Roberts, Alisha Homann, Jake Hammons, Gifford Whitehead, Steve Horvath and Seth Snyder):
