TxDOT seeks public feedback on SH 21 project

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a virtual public meeting with an in-person option for the SH 21 West project. No formal presentation is planned, and community members are invited to come, provide feedback, and go at their convenience.

TxDOT will analyze a 17.7-mile stretch of SH 21 in Hays and Caldwell counties from SH 80 to SH 130 to identify potential solutions to transportation needs along the corridor, which has experienced significant growth. The existing SH 21 configuration is primarily comprised of one lane in each direction, with alternating passing lanes, varying center-turn lanes, and dedicated left-turn lanes.

A virtual workshop will be available on Thursday, Aug. 29, by 5 p.m. To view the materials, visit TxDOT.gov and search “SH 21 Hays and Caldwell.” These materials will consist of informational display boards shown at the in-person workshop and opportunities to provide feedback.  

The in-person option will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Uhland Elementary School, 2331 High Road in Uhland. Attendees will be able to review project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and leave written comments.

Comments must be received by Friday, Sept. 13, to be included in the official record of this virtual public meeting with in-person option. Responses to comments received will be available online at www.txdot.gov once they have been prepared.
