Wanda Bagwell
Wanda Fay Bagwell, 72, of Lockhart went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, 2011. She was born in Lockhart, Texas, on Dec. 5, 1938, to Troy and Bernice Williams. She married Elmo “Gene” Bagwell on Aug. 23, 1957.
Wanda retired in 2000 after 30 years of teaching in the Lockhart Independent School District. She was a member of Clearfork Baptist church for 64 years.
She was also a member of Lockhart Retired Teachers Association and Lockhart Victims Assistance Team.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Lee and Jessie Bernice Williams; sister, Nettie Lea Staton; brothers, Donald Ray, Bobby Joe and Roger Williams; and grandson Benjamin Rich.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gene Bagwell; sons: Larry Bagwell and wife, Kim, Terry Bagwell and wife, Janet; and daughter, Brenda Hagan and husband, Billy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tabitha Rich, Emily Bagwell, Addison Hagan, Brodie Hagan and Trent Hagan and great-grandson, Trevor Rich.
Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Services were held Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Interment followed to Lockhart City Cemetery.
