Junior Varsity vs. Elgin
The Lockhart Lion junior varsity football team overpowered the Elgin Wildcats, 22-8, on the field Thursday evening, Oct. 20.
Leading the Lions on offense was David Pozuc with 154 total yards and one touchdown. Also scoring for the Lions were Gaylon Hill, with 57 total yards, and Josh Massey on a touchdown reception.
On defense, the Lion were tenacious on the field forcing the Wildcats to fumble numerous times. Recovering fumbles for the Lions were Stephen Brumley, David Pozuc, and Gary Williams.
“Once again it was a complete team effort,” Coach Brad Vickers said. “The defense did a great job of creating turnovers and forcing Elgin to punt. Offensively we did a good job of controlling the football and capitalizing on opportunities.”
The victory gives the junior varsity team a 4-3 overall record and 1-2 district record. Their next game will be against Pflugerville Hendrickson on Thursday, Oct. 27, with a home field advantage. Kick-off will be at 7 p.m.
