Donald Eugene Tokar died peacefully on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at Warm Springs in New Braunfels, Texas.
Donald was born on July 29, 1932, to Joseph c. Tokar and Stella H. Wojack in Minneapolis, Minn. He was the second of their four sons together. He was able to receive track scholarships and worked hard to obtain a Business Degree from the University of Minnesota. During this time he married Mary Alice Loesch, of Minneapolis. After graduation he entered the Air Force. He was trained as a pilot – one of the true loves of his life. He served his country proudly for 25 years, retiring when he was no longer able to fly. He took up residence in Austin, Texas, to be close to his daughter. He was a tax consultant until his death.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother, Stella; brother, Jerry; and his three wives: Mary A. Tokar, Helen Tokar, and Gloria McCue.
Survivors include his brothers Robert D. Tokar and wife, Elsie, and Joseph c. Tokar and wife, Mary; his daughter, Barbara L. Mars and husband, Tommy; brothers-in-law, John R. Irvine, Jr. and wife, Yvonne, and William Irvine. He had several nephews: Christopher, Jimmy, Bob, Jr., Jonathan and Nicholas; and nieces Patty and Mary, that he was very proud of.
Donald’s ashes will be interred in Emmanuel Columbarium in Lockhart, Texas.
Memorials can be given to Habitat for Humanity or the Wounded Warriors Fund.
