NOTICE OF PUBLIC

HEARING ON REALIGNING COMMISSIONER AND

JUSTICE PRECINCTS

According to the 2010 Census data, the County’s commissioner precincts are not of sufficiently equal population and must be redrawn in order to comply with the “one-person, one-vote” equal population principle established by the U.S. Constitution.

The Caldwell County Commissioners Court is considering new boundaries for its commissioner precincts and wants to hear from you.  (Justice Precincts will also be changed to be identical.)  Tell us what you think about the preliminary commissioner precinct plans at the public hearing described below:

The preliminary plans for the commissioner precincts will be available at the hearing and are available for public inspection during normal business hours at  Monday through Friday from now until the date of the public hearing.

A copy of the plan is also available at Caldwell County Courthouse, County Judge Office located at 210 South Main Street, Lockhart, TX 78644.  In addition, you need to be aware that the Commissioners Court has adopted Guidelines for public participation.  The Guidelines, among other things, require that comments be submitted in writing even if you make them orally at the hearing; all written comments are due by the close of the hearing.  The Guidelines may be found at www.co.caldwell.tx.us  Any plans that are proposed must conform to the redistricting Criteria adopted by the Commissioners Court.  The Criteria are found at www.co.caldwell.tx.us

Conforme la información emitida por el Censo del 2010, los recintos de los comisionados del Condado no son suficientemente equitativos en cuanto a su población, por lo cual deberán ser nuevamente configurados de acuerdo al principio “una persona – un voto” de población equitativa, establecido por la Constitución de los Estados Unidos.

La Corte de Comisionados del Condado de Caldwell está considerando nuevos límites para los recintos de los comisionados y desea escuchar su opinión.  (Recintos de juez de paz también serán modificados en forma idéntica.)  Díganos que piensa sobre el plan preliminar para los recintos de los comisionados durante la audiencia pública descrita a continuación:

El plan preliminar para los recintos de los comisionados estará disponible durante la audiencia para ser inspeccionado por el público, y también durante horas hábiles en Caldwell County Judge Office, 110 South Main Street, Lockharhart TX 78644, de Lunes a Viernes a partir de hoy hasta la fecha de la audiencia pública.
