Jack Charles Ries

Jack Charles Ries passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006.
Jack was born in San Antonio on Feb. 26, 1940 to Lottie Butts and Willie Albert Ries.
He graduated from Brackenridge HS in 1958 and joined the Air Force in 1959. After basic training he was stationed in Little Rock, Ark., where he met and married Mary Clare Corrington on April 28, 1962. They had five chi

ldren: Jane Clare, John Thaddius, Karl Edward, Lee William and Robert Albert; and six grandchildren.
They were married for 13 years.
He retired from the Air Force in May of 1981 and married Sheryl Barthalamew (she has two children, Kyle and Shannon) on July 17, 1981. They lived in England for three years before returning to live in San Marcos.
He worked for San Marcos Consolidated School District as a bus driver, Sac-N-Pac as a manager and volunteered his time and his horse for AWARE until his illness kept him from working.
The family visitation was at Zizik-Kearns Funeral Home on 515 St. Mary”s Ave, San Antonio, Texas, at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. The burial took place at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006.
