Mary Elaine Stevens

Mary Elaine Stevens, 68, of Port O’Connor, Texas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 at Onion Creek Senior Care, Austin, Texas.

Elaine was born May 15, 1947, in Memphis, Tenn., to Winfred and Mary Ellen (Lampley) Owens.

She was united in marriage to Bob Stevens on Aug. 9, 1965, in Houston, Texas.

She was devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who loved fishing, hunting,

arts and crafts, motorcycle riding, and living life to the fullest.  She also loved spending time with family and friends and did so at every opportunity.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Robert Stevens, of Port O’Connor; daughter, Evette and husband, Kevin Miller, of Dale; two brothers, Maurice and wife, Neva Owens, of Magnolia, and Rudy Owens of Lexington, Texas; grandson, Shane and wife, Tara Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Maddox and Malia Miller.

A Memorial Service to be held at noon at Fisherman”s Chapel, 311 Main St., Port O”Connor, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. There will be a reception following the service at 3:00 p.m., at the Stevens’ residence in Port O’Connor.

Her wishes were to have her close family scatter her ashes at sea.
