Mercedes Tobias Tapia

Miss Mercedes Tobias Tapia, 91, passed away peacefully at the Texan Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in San Marcos on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007.
She was born to Tomas and Camilia Tobias Tapia on March 15, 1916. She had lived all her life in Hays and Caldwell Counties. She never married and worked as a housekeeper before her retirement.
She was a member of St.

Michael”s Catholic Church in Kyle, Texas.
When she was younger, she was a member of Hijs De Maria at St. Michael”s Catholic Church.
Mercedes is survived by her sisters: Juliana T. Garcia of Uhland and Aurora T. Moreno of San Antonio.
A Recitation of the Rosary was held at Eeds Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Nov.15, 2007 with family and friends in attendance. The Mass of Celebration for Mercedes was held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at St. Anthony”s Catholic Church in Kyle with Father Howard Goertz officiating. Interment followed at the St. Michael”s Catholic Cemetery in Uhland, Texas.
Serving as the pallbearers were: Jorge L. Garcia, Juan Garcia, Joe Tapia, Jesse Juarez, Martin Tapia, Jr., and Tomas Moreno.
