Jessica Eve Hernandez

Jessica Eve Hernandez, of San Antonio, Texas, born May 23, 1967, went to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2010.

She was only 42 years old.

She is survived by daughter, Patricia Lauren Moore; grandson, Jonah Alexander Moore-Haffner; mother, Dolores Carmen Hernandez; sister, Veronica Louise Veytia; brother, Roland Abel Hernandez; and

numerous friends, family, and loved ones.

Jessica was born in Lockhart, Texas, and will be remembered for being caring and full of life. Her generous spirit and desire to help others often surpassed her means, and it was not uncommon for her to put others before herself in their trying times. The majority of her professional life was spent in field of apartment property management, where she was known to be dedicated and efficient.

More recently, she dedicated her time to assisting in the raising of her grandson and toward the achievement of her lifelong dream of obtaining a college education. This culminated in the earning of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of the Incarnate Word roughly one week prior to her passing.

Her actions were a testament to achievement in the face of obstacles. Her absence creates a void that will never be filled and she will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate TP know and be loved by her.

Visitation was scheduled beginning at noon on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at De Leon Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas, with Holy Rosary to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with procession and burial to follow.
