JV Lady Lions take no prisoners, beat Rebels 15-2

The Junior Varsity Lady Lions played an outstanding game against Hays on Wednesday, March 12, beating the Lady Rebels 15-2 in three complete innings with a “regulation run rule” game.
After having lost 5-1 to New Braunfels on Friday, March 7, the Lady Lions were ready to prove they could play ball on Wednesday. They played gre

at defense without any errors and displayed their many skills while executing excellent bunts, hits and base steals.
Tori Hill was 2-3 with a triple and four RBIs. Dominique Trevino was 2-3 with two RBIs. Briana Ortiz was 2-3 with two RBIs. Jessica Henderson was 2-3 with two RBIs. Shanice Nino had a double. Amanda Wright and Marissa Lopez each had a single.
Pitching for the JV Lady Lions was Henderson, who did a fantastic job holding the Lady Rebels to only three hits.
“This was the best the JV girls have played all season,” coach Alisha Homann said. “They really executed defensively and offensively. I am very proud of their hard work.”
The JV Lady Lions played against the Canyon Lady Cougars on Tuesday, March 18, and will host the Steele Lady Knights on Thursday, March 20. Games start at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
