Alta McMullen

Alta Lee McMullen, 88, of Delhi, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Austin. She was born in Caldwell County, Texas, on June 22, 1920, to Jim H. and Annie Mae (Smith) Sherry.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Odos Ray Sherry.
She is survived by her husband, Harlon McMullen, of Delhi; her sisters, Zelpha Echols and Velton Patton,

both of Delhi; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Alta Lee married Harlon on Dec. 22, 1939. They lived in San Antonio, Luling and resided in Delhi at the time of her death. She was a devoted member of the Delhi Baptist Church and also a member of the Delhi Ladies Club. She was known for her special loving kindness to all of her family and friends.

Family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Pastors Jim Hickman and Kenneth Baker officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Delhi Cemetery.
