Cecilia Reiley
Cecilia (nee Petri) Reiley of Austin, formerly of Lockhart, passed away on July 6, 2009. She was born in 1919 in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Cecilia met her husband, Edgar Reiley, at a July Fourth celebration near Selma, Texas. They shared 51 happy years together working primarily at farming in the Cibolo, Del Valle, Maxwell and Creedmoor communities. After retirement,
they moved to Lockhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; son, Leroy Reiley and his wife, Kathleen; one brother and two sisters.
Cecilia is survived by her son, Edgar Reiley, Jr., and wife, Jo Ann; grandchildren: Mark Reiley and wife, Deedee, Brian Reiley and wife, Terri, Janet Harwell and husband, Randy, Tracy Board and husband, David, and Kimberly Dvorak and husband, James; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Cecilia enjoyed traveling and volunteered often for her church and community, receiving recognition as Lockhart Senior Citizen, Third Quarter, 1998. She had a special talent for sewing, and arts and crafts. The staff at Monte Siesta Nursing Home provided loving care for Cecilia during the last years of her life.
Services were held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lockhart, Texas. Burial followed at Lockhart City Cemetery.
