Small Farm program set for Caldwell County

A Farm Financial Resource Management Program will be given as part of the Small Farm Institute of Prairie View A&M at the Caldwell County Extension office (403) Blackjack Street #8) in Lockhart on Aug 14 from 10 a.m.-noon either in-person or virtual.

The Ag Tax Appraisal/Assessment and Valuation will include the following topics and speakers:

* Ag tax valuation

* Requirements on CAD open space agricultural appraisals; Shanna Ramzinski, R.P.A., C.T.A., R.T.A, Chief Appraiser, Caldwell County Appraisal District

* Understanding 1-D-1 Wildlife Management Form; Trey Barron, Wildlife Biologist Texas Parks & Wildlife

* Wildlife Land Management Practices; Will Kearney, Wildlife Habitat Federation

* NRCS Program Updates; Jeremy Hasty, USDA NRCS
