Jesse Salas, Jr., 62, beloved Husband, Father-in-law, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Son, transitioned to his eternal resting place on April 8, 2024. Jesse, born on November 5, 1961, in Fentress, Texas, was the cherished son of Jesse Salas, Sr. and Maria Salas.
He was known for his infectious humor, kindness, and generosity. Jesse had a knack for ensuring everyone around him was happy and well-fed. His warm spirit touched the lives of many, leaving lasting impressions of laughter and joy.
Jesse found solace and strength in his spirituality, holding firm beliefs in God and offering daily prayers. He believed in the power of faith and the importance of embracing each day with gratitude and love.
Among his many passions, Jesse found joy in fishing, dancing, and mastering the art of cooking delicious BBQ. He was a skilled angler, a graceful dancer to Tejano and Country music, and a culinary artist behind the grill.
An important milestone in Jesse’s life was when he united in marriage with the love of his life, who became his greatest advocate and caregiver. Marianne Moreno Salas stood by his side for 28 years, embodying unwavering love and support.
Jesse’s legacy will be carried on through the memories he created, especially by his grandchildren who will fondly recall his playful nature and his penchant for dressing impeccably.
In reflecting on his life, Jesse would express gratitude to those attending his service, thanking them for their remembrance and support of his family during this time of need. His message would be one of love and encouragement, urging all to cherish each moment and to care for one another as he did.
Jesse leaves behind his devoted wife Marianne Moreno Salas, daughters Brenda Salas Garcia and Irene Salas, brothers Raymond Rios Jr., Rudy Salas, Sam Salas, and Riley Salas, sisters Joann Salas and Vera Salas, son-in-law Gilberto Garcia, and 19 beloved grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at DeLeon Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Jesse’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
