Mary K. Meyer
Mary K. Meyer, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010. She passed peacefully at home with family at her bedside.
Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Mary (Plaga) Kotowski on Feb. 1, 1921. She lived in Brooklyn until 1944 when she joined her husband, stationed in Corpus Christi. Mary was a homemaker for six children until age
43 when she went to work for IRS and DPS, retiring as a supervisor. She loved traveling to South America, Europe, Hawaii and numerous places around the U.S.
Mary was an active member of the New Life Assembly of God Church. She was a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary had a quiet strength, giving of herself to all in need: family, friends, strangers, stray animals and charitable organizations.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. J. P. “Buddy” Meyer; four sisters; one brother; and four sons-in-law.
She is survived by her loving children: Joan Larranaga, of Chile, Mary Ann Martin, husband, Russell, of Virginia, Joe Meyer and wife, Judy, of Austin, Elizabeth DelCogliano and husband, Robert, of Florida, Carol Ann Fowler, of Austin, and Debra Griffith, of Creedmoor; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Tessie Moody, of Florida, and Sally Mayo, of New York.

The family received visitors on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 5 – 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral home in Lockhart. Graveside services were planned on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at the Lockhart Municipal Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Lord officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Father Flanagan’s Boy’s Town, P.O. Box 6000, Boys Town, Neb. 68010, or Assemblies of God World Missions (Latin American Childcare), 1445 N. Booneville Ave., Springfield, Mo. 65802-1894.
