Laurie J. Crittenden, 74, of Lockhart, Texas passed away on June 25, 2024. She was born on June 17, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Charles Kneese and Marjorie Hall Kneese.

Laurie was a loving wife and mother. Her career was as a housewife, but when the budget was tight, she worked several part time jobs. She was a receptionist in a doctor’s office, a receptionist for an accounting firm, a floral delivery person later becoming a floral designer. She helped set up and open the new Walmart store in Round Rock, Texas and later served as the Garden Center manager in that store. She loved and raised chickens until her health prohibited that. Her hobbies were artistic in nature as she made and painted ceramic objects, made several counted cross stitch pictures, hand quilted bedspreads for all the family and her grandkids, and knitted scarves, hats and socks for the family and for charity.

Laurie is survived by her husband Dave and children Julie (Scott) Choate and David (Clinton) Crittenden. She also is survived by her sister Christi Harris and brother-in-law Bart Harris. She has four grandchildren Zoe, Spencer, Aiden and Harrison Choate. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Kneese, her mother, Marjorie Kneese and her brother Timothy Kneese.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Red Cross where she volunteered for several years.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards the Methodist Heart and Lung Institute in San Antonio, Texas; Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in New Braunfels, Texas; Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lockhart, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 AM in the First Methodist Church 313 W. San Antonio St. Lockhart, TX 78644
