Daniel Willburn Strey

Daniel Willburn Strey, a resident of Lockhart, passed away on July 27, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born in Yakima, Washington on July 7, 1956, to Vernon and Barbara Strey.
Dan is survived by his wife Yolanda Strey, his children; Nicholas Strey and Aaron Strey all of Lockhart, his siblings; Joe Strey of Lytton Springs and Kurt Strey of Austin. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dan was a devoted husband, loving father, respected colleague, and passionate sports fan. He was a steadfast presence in the lives of his family and friends. With a 40 year career in IT, his last 15+ years was with Accenture as an Analyst, where he was admired for his hard work and dedication.
A man of unwavering character, Dan found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was passionate about bowling and history. With a contagious laugh and compassionate heart, he touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at McCurdy Funeral Home from 5-9PM with the Rosary recited at 7PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Mary’s of the Visitation Catholic Church at 10AM with a burial following to St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of McCurdy Funeral Home.
