Elidia L. Morales, the daughter of Arturo and Maxima Gonzales Longoria, passed away on October 12, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was one of 10 children.

Elidia met her husband, Pedro Morales, at a dance in 1959 in Genoa, Ohio as migrant workers. After a short courtship they were married the same year. The love they had spanned 52 years until his passing in 2011. From this joyous union they had 10 children.

Elidia will be remembered as a humble, giving and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed crafting including sewing, cooking tamales, tortillas, and mole. Elidia liked flowers but her most prized possession was her family.

She is survived by 9 children: Pedro Morales Jr. (Tina), Felix L. Morales, Gilbert Morales (Amy), Joe Luis Morales (Angela), Adelita James (Mike), Armelinda Gonzales (Esteban), Janie Morales, Ana Luisa De Leon (George) and Julie Arevalo (Gustavo). Elidia is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with another one on the way: a sister Maria Luisa Longoria and a brother Abelardo Longoria.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, Joe Luis Morales; 2 brothers Ernesto Longoria and Emiliano Longoria and 5 sisters: Elida Garcia, Elisa Chavez, Emilia Falcon, Ester Garcia and Manuela Guevara.

A visitation will be at McCurdy Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 5-9 PM with a Rosary recited at 7pm. A Mass of a Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, on Elidia’s 88th birthday, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Uhland. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael James, David Jesse James, Cody James, Epifanio Ramirez Jr., Abraham Morales, Joshua Morales, Gilbert Ryan Morales, George De Leon III, Pete De Leon, Christopher Morales and James Matthew Rangel.
