Ramon (Big Ray) Martinez
Ramon (Big Ray) Martinez passed away on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born in Three Rivers, Texas to Genaro and Aniseta Martinez on February 20th, 1949. He was married to the love of his life Petra Martinez on June 25th, 1967. in Martindale, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Raymond Martinez Jr., daughter Lynette Martinez, his parents, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Senaida and Juan Torres.
Big Ray was a hardworking, dedicated family man who loved his children and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool with his friends in a competitive and social setting. He was well-known everywhere he went and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Petra; his children, Ray Martinez (Marie), Amy Martinez-Cates (Jose), Lori Martinez, Sandy Woods (Kenneth), Randy Martinez (Jessica) and Daniella Martinez. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Stacie, Vann, Brittany, Chelsi, Mariah, Damian, Daniella, Malaina, Jayce, Marisol, Jared, Jalyssa, Matthew, Carter, Remi, and Emmet. As well as his brothers, Anselmo, Carlos, Juan and Sisters, Juana, Mary, Betty, Linda, Stella, and Bobby Jo. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 7 pm with open visitation from 5-9 pm. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 10AM at St Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church. Arrangements in care of McCurdy Funeral Home.
