Library to host book signing

The Dr. Eugene Clark Library will welcome children’s author Sonya Cogan and illustrator Jenna Murry on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. for a special book signing of Where’s Speedy: A True Turtle Tale.

Cogan’s heartwarming story introduces readers to Speedy, a curious and adventurous turtle who first appeared in Rachel’s backyard. Though Rachel tries to care for him indoors, Speedy makes it clear he prefers freedom. From exploring the neighborhood to vanishing for weeks at a time, Speedy’s journeys capture the magic of nature and the joy of living life to the fullest.

Illustrated by Jenna Murry, the book celebrates themes of family, friendship, and adventure while teaching children about respect for animals and the outdoors.

In addition to meeting the author and illustrator, attendees can enjoy free activity sheets, including a puzzle map, word search, crossword puzzle, and coloring pages, available while supplies last.

The event is free and open to the public, offering families the chance to discover a true tale that blends education with wonder.
