Leadership San Marcos Class of 2027 visited the Gary Job Corps Center as part of the educational section of the course curriculum.  Leadership San Marcos is dedicated to providing opportunities to gain experience and knowledge to improve leadership ability and increase value for citizens since 1984.  The curriculum is divided into eight sessions; exploring the essentials of leadership, a study of the past, present, and future needs of the community, communications and leadership skills, local and economy, city, and county government, highlights of San Marcos, educational systems and case studies.    

    The Community Project of 2027 will be to build a storage shed at the Hays Caldwell County Women’s Center.  In addition to the tour of the Gary Job Corps Center Stacy Kerns, Director of Administration and Finance shared with the class a history of the Center and future plans, she said “Gary Job Corps is the largest center in the United States and training the tomorrow’s workforce today, we a glad that members of the Leadership Class have taken the time to tour and understand the mission of Job Corps”.
