Lady Lions Fall to Hays Hawks

The Lockhart Lady Lions faced a tough challenge Tuesday night as they took on the Hays Hawks, falling 20–60 in a hard-fought contest.
Hays jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, putting the Lady Lions in a 2–18 deficit. Lockhart showed improvement in the second quarter, adding key points on offense, but still trailed 11–34 at halftime. The Lady Lions continued to battle in the third quarter, narrowing some possessions, yet remained behind 16–46 heading into the final period.
Despite the final score, Lockhart continued to compete until the final buzzer. Peyton Johnson led the Lady Lions with 14 points. Zoe Goerlitz contributed 3 points, Madison Knoblauch added 2 points, and Beah St. Leger chipped in 1 point.
The Lady Lions will look to regroup and build on their efforts as they prepare for their next matchup.
