Margaret Walden
Margaret Aslee Williams Walden went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Nov. 5, 2010. She was born in Austin, Texas, on Aug. 26, 1932, to Chester Lee Williams and Florance Wilma Farmer Williams. She married Ben Edward Walden in 1952. To this union were born three children: Sheila, Wesley and Lesa.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Dois Walden, of Taylorsville,
Wesley Edward Walden and wife, Joanne, of Dale, and Lesa Dawn Walden Burns and husband, Dennis James, of McMahan, and Melissa Jeffers Moore, of Bastrop; and her grandchildren: Wesley Heath Walden and Lindsey Ann Walden, both of Bastrop, Justin James Burns, of McMahan, Travis Wade Walden, Gannon Joseph Walden, Mary Margaret Sharlett Walden and Bridget Walden, all of Dale; great-grandson, Joshua Paul Vardell; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Dawn Walden. She is also survived by her brother, Elzie Leroy Williams and wife, Shirley, of Spicewood; sisters, Judy Lynn Adams and husband, Charles, of Bastrop, Lanny Sue Jensen and husband, Joe, of Bastrop, and Gloria Lanell Staudt and husband, CJ, of Stonewall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived for and was loved unconditionally by her family. Margaret was of great character. She was steadfast in her determination and strength to raise and provide for her children and family. Margaret was a devoted mother and her best job was mother. Margaret was considered “the other mother” by many of her nephew and nieces. She will be missed by her family and her friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Edward Walden of Atlanta, Ga.; her parents, Chester Lee Williams and Florance Wilma Farmer Williams, of Austin; her brother, Bobby Donald Williams, of Bastrop; and her sister, Marion Elizabeth Williams Shelton, of Austin.
Services were held at the Chester Lee Williams Cemetery farm in Bastrop on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at 1 p.m., led by John Minton pastor. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
