Lions fall to Reagan
The Lions had a disappointing loss to the Reagan Raiders who defeated them 19-3 Friday night at Nelson Field in Austin.
Despite the defeat, Lockhart”s Head Coach Bryce Monsen was pleased with the effort Lockhart made.
“We have a very good and very talented football team,” Monsen said. “We played real hard and I thought the kids fought to the end.”

arning and we”re doing a good job. We”re proud of our kids, those kids work hard we just gotta be able to execute a little more on offense and not turn the ball over and defensively keep playing hard.”
The game started with the Lions taking the early lead with a field goal by David Peebles from the 10-yard line at 11:41 in the first quarter. The first quarter ended with the Lions up 3-0.
Peebles had two other field goal attempts during the contest but both were no good. Peebles also had three punts on the night for 98 yards and an average of 32.66 yards a punt.
Willie Hill had three punts returns on the night for 83 yards for an average return of 27.66 yards. Thomas Collins had one return for seven yards.
The Raiders however dominated the remainder of the game. Coming off a Lion”s fumble that put the Raiders on the 16-yardline, Quarterback Damien McCradic rushed for a one-yard touchdown at 9:51 in the second quarter giving the Raiders a 3-point lead. The Lockhart defense blocked their attempt at a two-point conversion.
