Francess Faye Stanford Theriot Mooneyham, 78, died May 29, 2011, in Port Lavaca, Texas. Her final days were spent surrounded by the many family members and friends whose lives Faye had touched during her memorable life.

Faye was born on Dec. 23, 1932, in White City, Texas, to Lee Ben and Ora Tafena Stanford. She was the youngest of ten children raised by the couple in East T

exas during the hard scrabble years of the 1920s and “30s.

In 1952, Faye married Edward Theriot, Sr., and moved to the heart of Cajun country in St. Martinville, La. The couple had two children, Deborah and Edward, Jr., and raised the family along the banks of the Bayou Teche until Edward”s death in 1968. Faye returned to Texas and lived in Texas City until her marriage to Leonard Mooneyham in 1972.

Faye and Leonard traveled and lived in many places around the country and globe. In the mid-1970s, they settled in McMahan, Texas, and upon Leonard”s retirement, moved to the coast at Indianola to fish and relax. In all their travels, their home was always the central gathering place for family, friends, kids of all ages, and generally anyone else that needed someplace to kick off their shoes for a while.

Whether she was planning a formal affair for a hundred American expiates or planning breakfast for the five teenagers sleeping in her living room on Sunday morning, Faye”s special brand of Texan / Cajun southern comfort made everyone feel welcome and happy. All of us that ever needed a friend, a meal, a fishing buddy, a place to sleep, something mended, a hug and kiss, a word of encouragement, or at times, a word of redirection, are better people today because she was part of our lives.

Faye is survived by her husband, Leonard Wesley Mooneyham, of Indianola; children and their spouses, Wesley Ray Mooneyham, of St. Augustine, Deborah Theriot Rawlinson, of Indianola, Robert and Velma Mooneyham, of San Antonio, and Edward and Andrea Theriot, of Lockhart; seven grandchildren: Jason Mooneyham, Cody Rawlinson, John Mooneyham, Matt Mooneyham, Heather Mooneyham, Mariah Mooneyham Molina and Joseph Theriot; and five great-grandchildren: Mark Mooneyham, Amanda Rawlinson, Michael Mooneyham, Madilyn Mooneyham and Kaylen Dorsett.

Faye is also survived by one sister and spouse, Ottie and Adrian White, of Delhi, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Theriot, Sr.; her son, Mark Dewayn Mooneyham; and eight brothers and sisters: Eddith Stanford, Chester Stanford, Ludy Roberts, Ray Stanford, Johnnie Stanford, V.O. Stanford, Winnie Hicks and Bennie Stanford,
