Justin Ross Murray
Our precious beloved Justin Ross was called to his Lord on Sunday, May 22. His life was tragically ended in a car accident, and he will forever be missed and remembered by his bereaved family and friends.
Justin Ross Murray was born on Sept. 16, 1985 in San Antonio to parents Patty Rowan Stephens and Jim Murray. Justin attended school in Lockhart and graduated from Lul
ing High School in 2004. He participated in vanity football, which be really loved and made many good friends.
Justin had a true love of Texas musicians and was always “scouting new talent.” He had recently completed his freshman year at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, where he was pursuing his education and looking forward to a military career in the U.S. Army.
Justin enjoyed life the most when he was spending time with his friends and family. He always had a smile on his face and was genuinely happy. He was a wonderful young man, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Justin was survived by his parents, Patty and Richard Stephens of Luling and Jim
and Janice Murray of Kaufman; sister Whitney Murray of Luling; brothers Jonathan Stephens and J.D. Murray and wife Debbie, all of Luling; and sisters Justine and Julie Murray of Kaufman. He is also survived by his great-grandmother Laurette Murray of Kerrville; maternal grandparents Linda Rowan of Luling and Mel Rowan of Austin; paternal grandfather J.P. Murray of Brady; and special Grandpa Bruce Stephens of Lockhart. Justin was also uncle to Mariah, Brenna, and Lane Murray of Luling. He will be missed my many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well.
Justin was preceded in death by his aunt, Pam Eaker of Lockhart; his great-grandmother, Edene Cameron of Luling; and great-uncle, Mark Cameron of Fentress.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at Cowboy Bible Church with Pastor Randolph Robbins officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Tucker, Light Townsend, Garrett May, Jason Magallanez, Justin Grogan, and Paul Barnes. Honorary pallbearers are Justin”s uncles Tim Rowan, Gary Bell, Melville T. Rowan, III, and Jerry Murray.
