Carol Ann Eckford
Carol Ann Eckford, 54, passed away peacefully in Kyle, Texas on Sept. 20, 2011.
Carol Ann Eckford was born on March 13, 1957 to the late Elnora and Oscar Eckford. She grew up attending public schools in Lockhart, Texas. She confessed her faith to Christ at an early age. As a member of Greenhill Church of Christ of Lockhart, her commitment and dedication to Jesus was obvious
in her work.
After graduating from Lockhart High School, she spent many years in the Dallas area: playing softball, soccer, umpiring and making many friends. But of it all softball was her heart. She was employed at Securitas until her health begin to decline.
She leaves to cherish her life in memories: two sisters, Jean Hardaway (Quint) and Lenora Cashe (Cleo); and five brothers: Earl C. Wright, Sr., Oscar L. Eckford, Jr., Arthur J. Eckford (Mamie), Attley O. Eckford (Christal) and Garland L. Eckford (Jesse). In addition, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews and several friends.
A visitation was held at Eeds Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas, from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011. Services were held at the Church of Christ in Lockhart on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, with Brother Jesse Fogle officiating. Serving as pallbearers were; Patrick Eckford, Terrick Eckford, Earl Wright Jr., Arthur Love, Larry Braziel, and Jarred Graham. Serving as honorary pallbearers were; Oscar Eckford, Arthur Eckford, Attley Eckford and Garland Eckford. Burial followed at Hooks Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of this loss. Some years ago in the 70’s Carol played softball with our team “Pit Barbecue”. She was an outstanding outfielder and a very beautiful person. We shared many good times together. We are so sorry we did not hear of her passing until Sunday and didn’t know of the funeral on Monday. To the family, May God continue to comfort and keep you.
