Margaret “Maggie” Lenore Schroeder was born July 12, 1909 in Rogers Ranch, Texas, the daughter of Rudolph and Alma Schreiber. She passed away peacefully in her sleep July 18, 2005 in Lockhart, Texas.
She married William H. Schroeder on Nov. 26, 1930, and they continued to reside in Lockhart where they reared four children.
She is survived by her son and daughter

-in-law, William H. “Bill” Schroeder, Jr. and Kay Schroeder, and son, James E. Schroeder, all of Lockhart; her grandchildren, James Winn Schroeder and wife, Susan Schroeder, of Lockhart, Texas, Kimberly Schroeder of Houston, Texas, Mari-Margaret Hunter and husband, Chris Hunter, of Frisco, Texas, and William H. “Trey” Schroeder, III and wife, Stacie Schroeder, of San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer Schroeder and Ryan Schroeder of Plano, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Schroeder and Cassie Schroeder of Lockhart, Ally Hunter and Maddie Hunter of Frisco.
She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Schroeder, Sr.; daughter, Margaret Diane Schroeder; son, David Lynn Schroeder; and daughter-in-law, Betty Sue Schroeder.
Maggie loved her family, her friends and her church; she enjoyed traveling, card games and dominos and taught all her children and grandchildren to play these and many other games. Her home was a favorite place for holiday gatherings – grandchildren coming by after school for cookies and milk and telling her all about their day. She was an avid bridge player, having belonged to several bridge clubs over the years. Maggie was also very active in her church, St. Paul”s United Church of Christ, where she chaired the committee that hosted the famous “Turkey Suppers” held annually around Thanksgiving for several years.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 20 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel, Lockhart. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Don Grobowsky, George Grobowsky, Edward Nolte, Glenn Nolte, Dennis Schreiber, Rudy Schroeder, Alfred Seeliger and Lawrence Tilton.
