Wanda Stark Blackwell
Wanda Stark Blackwell of Kingsland, Texas died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 at Llano Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.
Formerly a resident of Corpus Christi, she had lived in the Hill Country since 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Lakes Church of Christ.
Wanda was born in Ganado, Texas on March 9, 1925 to Sallie Rachel (Culton) and Ambrose Trembly
Stark and became the bride of Claude V. Blackwell, Sr., in Lockhart on Oct. 2, 1945. They were married for more than 50 years prior to his death in 2003.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandson Claude V. Blackwell III (Trey) in 1970; two sisters and two brothers.
Her survivors include son Claude V. Blackwell Jr. and wife Nanette of Alice, Texas; grandchildren Kathy Green and husband Russell, Kara Blackwell, Katina Blackwell, and Kelli Jo Salinas and husband Gabriel, all of Alice; great-grandchildren Megan Green, Bryant Reynolds, Claude Reynolds, Russell Green, Jr., and B. Matthew Reynolds, all of Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. at Highland Lakes Church of Christ in Kingsland, officiated by Bro. Joe Winnett and Bro. Bill Blackstone. Cremation and a private dispersal of her ashes according to her wishes will follow.
Honorary pallbearers were Russell Green, Gabriel Salinas, Randy Newman, Bill Blackwell, Bryant Reynolds, Claude Reynolds, Russell Green, Jr., B. Matthew Reynolds and Cecil Hawkins, Jr.
