Larry Edwin Wheeler
Larry Edwin Wheeler, 66, passed away on April 20, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Carolyn Wheeler, of Lytton Springs; children, Bowie Wheeler and wife, Rebecca, of Round Rock, Kristy Fierro and husband, Armando, of Lockhart, Jason Webb and wife, Rachel, of Billings, Mont., and Demetria Brewer, of Cleveland, Texas; mother, Betty Conklin; sister, Suzanne Wallace and
husband, Alan; brother, Johnny Wheeler, of Cut and Shoot, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Elva Wheeler.
Larry was a graduate of Lockhart High School in 1965, where he met and later married Judy Carolyn Webb. Larry and Judy celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in December. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. After his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from Southwest Texas State University. He embarked on a career with the State of Texas and served as a Compliance Officer retiring with 25 years of service. He then became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and served as the administrator for several area nursing home facilities.
Larry was a member of the Lytton Springs Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Director of Music, and as a Sunday school teacher over his many years of service. He was dedicated to serving the Church and sharing the Word of God. Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.
Larry had an outgoing personality and was always quick to strike up a conversation. All who knew and loved him agreed that he never met a stranger and if he did they would not be strangers for long. Larry loved to fish and could often be found on the Texas Gulf Coast fishing and teaching his children and grandchildren to fish, even though they often caught more fish than he did.
He will truly be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held honoring Larry on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Lytton Springs Baptist Church, 8511 FM 1854, Dale, Texas. Dr. James E. Carey will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contribution be made to the Lytton Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, in memory of Larry Wheeler.

What a wonderful Christian man Larry was. He was gifted in so many ways, and did them all with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. I thank God that He allowed me to know Larry.
I grew up in Lytton Springs and thereby grew up with all of Mr. Wheeler’s kids (and some of his in-laws).. He was a good man, I went to the baptist church and remember him “keeping us in line”…
Best Wishes to his family… He truly was a great man..
Our community has lost a valuable asset, but his memory and influence will still be with us. Our prayers are with the family, God be with you in your loss.
