Community supports Wounded Warriors
Members of Lockhart and the surrounding communities came out in force on Friday morning to support American servicemen and women as several busloads of wounded veterans came through town en route to Port O’Connor for a fishing trip provided by Warriors’ Weekend (www.warriorsweekend.org).
The group stopped for a few minutes at Kreuz’s Market, where community members and students, including the LHS Air Force JROTC, Cheerleaders, Roaring Lion Band and Lionettes had gathered with flags, posters and other gifts and goodies to show their support for the men and women that serve this nation in uniform.

As a lifetime resident of Lockhart, Texas and a member of the Texas Army National Guard currently deployed in Kuwait. I would like to say from the bottom of my heart. THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT yall showed for my wounded military brothers and sisters. I wouldve loved to have been there but military duty calls and I’m in Kuwait standing tall as a proud member of the greatest Army in the world and a Proud American. Thanks

WAY TO GO, LOCKHART!!! I AM SO PROUD OF OUR COMMUNITY!! GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
This makes me proud to be part of such a great town. Even though I wasn’t born here I feel like this is my hometown. I am so glad my husband and I decided to bring our kids back here to raise them.
It was a great day! 🙂 I’m so glad LPR posted the invite to this otherwise I would not have known as I don’t live in Lockhart anymore but knowing that my hometown was throwing this nothing could keep me away! It was really neat to experience it.:) Being able to show them how much I appreciate them and to show my son what sacrifices they have made for us he may only be 3 but someday he will understand that he was able to take part in that, so it was worth the trip any day in my book. And to Emilio be SAFE and THANK YOU for your service!!
